WE KNOW INSPIRATION CAN COME FROM ANYWHERE, BUT THE VISION BEHIND AQWI WAS TRIGGERED UPON OUR TEAM HEARING A HISTORIC SPEECH GIVEN BY PRESIDENT JOHN F. KENNEDY – BOTH SAILOR AND A SEA-LOVER ON THE EVE OF THE 1962 AMERICA’S CUP YACHT RACE:

“I really don’t know why it is that all of us are so committed to the sea, except I think it’s because in addition to the fact that the sea changes, and the light changes, and ships change, it’s because we all came from the sea.

And it is an interesting biological fact that all of us have in our veins the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and, therefore, we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea – whether it is to sail or to watch it – we are going back from whence we came.”

– John F. Kennedy

Presenting Aqwi Organics –

a unique spin on a new family of hydration beverages that forced us to explore the world to bring our concept to life.

That JFK quote began Aqwi’s 6-year exploratory of turning to the sea as a largely untapped, but ultimate and limitless source for the foundations of our new, groundbreaking beverage.

After searching across three continents, Aqwi co-developed, along with a Canadian-based partner, an odorless, tasteless antioxidant extract made from sea vegetables – organic brown seaweed – that’s now organically hand-harvested by our divers at certain times of the year.

This pursuit coincided with the worldwide emergence and food trend of using Sea Salt as a healthier and potentially more nutritious source of varying flavors, minerals and other micronutrients. Not to mention being an excellent means to deliver electrolytes.

Organic Brown Seaweed

Sea Vegetables

Sea vegetables have been historically and extensively used in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics for years, but their application in beverages is the breakthrough part of the Aqwi story.

We manually-harvest, handle and process seaweed organically to demineralize and remove concentrations of iodine to form a consumable extract, laminaria, with the colorful hues and texture of honey. Healthline has summarized brown seaweed as “a nutritious vegetable that’s rich in fiber, iron, magnesium and B Vitamins.

100% Pure, All Natural & Virtually No-Calorie

Sweetened by Monkfruit

Unlike many functional beverages which use Stevia or other synthesized ingredients like artificial or sugar-alcohol sweeteners, Aqwi uses organic Monk Fruit, a 100% pure, natural and virtually no-calorie sugar substitute derived from the goodness of real fruit.

Often golden in color and considered the Gold Standard of sweeteners, Monk Fruit is as healthy, Keto-friendly, safe alternative to table sugar that delivers sweetness with virtually no aftertaste – a great advantage over some chemical sweeteners, like aspartame. Each 16-ounce bottle of Aqwi contains 0 grams of sugar.

Balanced with the Earth & Body’s Own Chemistry

USDA Organic

Aqwi delivers antioxidants, essential minerals, micronutrients and electrolytes in way that’s good for the planet and in balance with the body’s own chemistry. It does so via all-organic ingredients and processes, tapping into a top superfood from the most basic and original life-giving resource – the sea.

Look for the USDA Organic seal on every Aqwi bottle (and notice that everybody else doesn’t have one.)

Protecting the Sea

Recyclable Glass Packaging

It’s no secret to us that the sheer volume of plastic bottles from the $200 billion annual bottled water market is a main pollution source, especially in our oceans. Americans alone buy and discard 29 billion bottles a year, and only one in six is recycled. This translates to an estimated 20 billion pounds of plastic floating in our seas annually.

On the other hand, we separately saw data noting that a glass bottle was 22 times more likely than a plastic one to be recycled… We’ve also seen this along our own beaches.

Hence, Aqwi proudly comes packed in easily recycled clear glass bottles. Instead of taking the easy route of using a cheaper plastic or PET bottle, we wanted to do our part to both keep the oceans healthy, and look out for our business partner, Mother Nature. Figure this was an easy choice for us; we owe her one.
